Introducing ONVP
Ohio NextGen360 Verification Platform. Ask Us About Our Newest Employment and Income Verification Option - ONVP!
What is ONVP?
ONVP is a secure, online platform that helps you quickly verify your employment and income information for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and Child Support programs.
- SNAP
- TANF
- Medicaid
- Child Support
Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS) has transitioned to ONVP to streamline benefit eligibility determination and connect Ohioans to the resources they need.
ONVP is a secure, online system that helps verify your income and employment by allowing you to connect your current employer, payroll provider, gig account, benefit account, or upload documents directly to help verify your eligibility for benefits through Truv.
Why Use ONVP?
ONVP helps verify your income and employment quickly using your employer, payroll, gig, or financial information—or by uploading pay documents.
This may help ODJFS process your application faster and reduce requests for more paperwork.
ONVP uses strong encryption to help keep your information secure.
Using ONVP Requires Just Four Easy Steps!
Log in with your OHID
Find employer or payroll provider
Login with everyday work credentials
That’s it!
Need more information? Interested in using ONVP?
Your County Eligibility Worker can guide you through the process. Please note that ONVP is an optional tool and is not required to receive benefits.

Counties May Ask You to Verify Employee Income. Here Is Why, and What to Do
ODJFS no longer uses The Work Number for county income checks. Here is what changed and how you can help.
Why this matters
When Ohioans apply for food assistance, Ohio Works First, Medicaid, or child support services, counties must confirm what they earn. Accurate income information helps make sure benefits reach the people who qualify and protects public dollars.
What changed
Until June 30, 2026, counties used The Work Number, an Equifax service, to look up income for employees of companies that report payroll data there. The state's contract with The Work Number expired on June 30. All counties now use the Ohio NextGen360 Verification Platform, or ONVP.
The Work Number is still an active service. Counties simply no longer have access to it for these checks. So even if you already report to The Work Number, county caseworkers cannot see that information.
How verification works now
Your employee links their payroll account.
The employee signs in to their payroll account, much like viewing a paystub, and shares their pay information with ONVP. The link lasts one year, unless the employee leaves the job or changes their sign-in credentials.
ONVP checks Experian.
If your company reports payroll data to Experian, your employee's records may appear automatically. Experian is a separate service that ODJFS does not run. Employers interested in reporting to Experian can contact Experian directly.
If neither works, the county may contact you.
We ask that you complete the income verification request the county sends. Counties often use their own forms, because there is no single state form.
A county reaches out only when it needs your help, so please respond promptly. A quick answer helps your employee's case move faster.
What you can do now
- Ask your HR or payroll team to watch for county verification requests and answer them quickly.
- Check whether your company or payroll provider is in the Truv employment verification directory, where hundreds of employers are already listed. Your employee still has to link their account for it to work. Employers that want to connect with Truv can contact support+ohio@truv.com.
